My mother asked me today if I thought we need to call in Hospice for my father. How do you answer that?

You say, "We'll ask Dad and do what he wants/needs to be most comfortable."
Although my mom is still in good health considering - she has now been hospitalized twice (came home today after a 24 hr stay), I told my dad weeks ago that he needs to learn the bills that mom always handled and that he needed to get her will and living will from the safety deposit box and review them with the lawyer since they are over 10 years old.
It's a tough decision, but you need to think of the comfort of your father and mother. What will make him feel the best and what will make you and your mother worry less. As much as you want to be there 24/7... you have to take in to thought what you two will have to go through... I don't mean to sound like a selfish person, but I have known several folks in similar situations who had to make this decision... it is tough. You will make the right one. But consider all aspects with your father and with you and your mother. Be strong.
Dave I agree with Sean, You have to be realistic in this I am facing it now and have faced it with my Dad. Get your house in order and talk to your Dad. It is hard but you can and will do it. Joe

Strength and peace for you and your mom.
Honestly.

I agree with Sean, ask your Dad what he wants.
You're in my prayers.
