Almost Done

Today is the last day of my classes and I couldn't be happier! This semester has been a pain in some form since the beginning. Issues with my laptop, problems with an inattentive instructor, disruptive students in another and dealing with my mother's breast cancer, I'm ready to put this behind me and move on. The grades have still not been posted or even updated for my online class. There are still eight lessons to be graded. Currently I stand at a 77 in that class, but if something went horrible wrong, I don't have time to fix it and resubmit, thanks to her lax ability to keep grade postings current. I gave her a very poor score on my student evaluation and hope she does not return to a teaching position next semester. My other two classes I passed with an "A" and "B". I wish both had been an "A", but I really screwed up on my last web project. I'm sure the distraction every ten minutes from my classmate wasn't helping. I'm glad to be done with all of it. Now the hard part, finding a job, any job. I would love to find one that uses the skills I've learned, but honestly, I'll take anything at this point. I'm just glad this is over with and I can begin to move forward.

Maybe the teacher will learn a lesson from the student evaluation. It's be my experience that teachers really do read them and take them to heart.

I had a professor once who spoke so fast it was impossible to take notes and nearly impossible to even follow her reasoning. At the end of the semester I wrote in my evaluation that if she spoke any faster her mouth would explode in flames.

The following semester I overheard some of her new students talking about someone's mouth exploding in flames so I interrupted them and asked about it, and sure enough my old professor had told her new class about my evaluation! I don't think it changed her at all, but at least I know she read it.
