I've been half heartily following the Prop 8 trial, but by all accounts, I can see no other outcome but to over turn it. Maybe I'm biased or just over optimistic, or even have too much faith that the judges will do the right thing. I'm hoping for the best and planning for the worst. Anyone who believes in separation of church and state, that is sworn to uphold the law whether it contradicts their personal beliefs or not, can plainly see by this trial, that there is no real choice but to overturn Prop 8. Not to do so, would undermine everything this country is suppose to stand for and go against the Constitution itself. I can only hope, pray, wish, dream that court will do the right thing for my people.Wednesday, January 27, 2010

This judge very well may side with us . . . but when it gets to the Supremes, as currently constituted, I think they'll torpedo it. Look what the conservative 5 just did with corporate campaign funds - which involved overturning at least two previous Supreme Court rulings.
And the rightwingers complain about "activist judges" . . . .
I don't have hope, alas. I hope you are right, I am wrong.
I am quite frankly very pessimistic about any kind of equal justice in this country at the present time.
Yea, who do people have a difficult time with this? We are nation that allows freedom of all religions, not freedom of all Christian sects!
