Timber!

Well, today we started cutting trees on my property. I am sore and absolutely exhausted! We made some progress but still there is many more trees to remove. We are hoping to have it finished before the end of the month so we can have the bulldozer remove the stumps. It was a rough 4 hours though. The chain on the chainsaw was dull as a butter knife. There were a few instances I thought using the axe would be quicker. It's also a heavy sucker too. I think they should be made ambidextrous so you don't have to get in all sorts of contortions to get the proper angle and location. I also sunk ball sac deep in a rotted out stump hole with my right leg while clearing brush out of the way. My leg went in easier than it came out. Of course, I moved on with the rest of the day with a weary eye and trauma free. Then I stepped in another one up to my right knee. Oh well, after that I started marking them with limbs. I also managed to get into some poison oak, to which I'm highly allergic. So far, no trouble there. However, I realized now I have an allergy to silver. I've broken out in a ring around my neck from a cheap chain I was wearing yesterday. It has itched all day and more so when I was sweating. I took along my camera to note our slow but steady progress, but forget to replace the battery after charging it. I'll get some pictures up sometime next week. And how was your Good Friday?

Just remember to pace yourself and don't overdo it. It was a relatively quiet day. Most people probably thought we were closed. Which was a good thing. ;-)

Be careful! You know it turns us all on to think of you in flannel and jeans being all lumberjacky and all, but it does not turn us on to think of you in a hospital suffering from "the revenge of the Ents"!
