Can't Have it Both Ways

Is anyone else a little tired of the church wanting their rights protected while trampling upon the rights of others? I certainly am. I'm fed up with the hypocrisy the churches represent as truth. While I believe deeply in a supreme being that I refer to as God, I don't force my beliefs on others or hold them in contempt if they don't believe the same. I don't think that one can follow the Bible to the letter nor can you pick and choose whatever suits you, when it suits you. I think it is a history lesson at best, myth for the most part and a guide in the least. I'm sick of hearing from pontificating mouthpieces claiming to know the will of God or hold the only keys to heaven. I keep hoping that these pious individuals at the head of the mega churches will wake up to the error of their ways. My understanding of Bible doesn't support what they preach. It isn't Christ like to shove your beliefs onto someone else. You lead by example and they come to you. Never once did Jesus ever try to pass laws to force his will onto others, nor did he every say any of his believers should. Today's holy relics called churches are a far cry from the originals. They will pay dearly for it too, just as we will if we allow them to get away with it.
