Schoolin'
We received the grade on our quiz tonight. I did okay. I made an 88. I missed one question I thought was right, one I knew I missed, and one I sort of guessed at. Not to bad, though I wish it were better. I ran into the fella from last quarter that I wrote about here. He had shaved his beard and cut his hair. I all most didn't recognize him. If he hadn't been speaking with the instructor, I probably wouldn't have. I still haven't had my concerns addressed with the team project from my other class. Hopefully in the next day or so, she will post the grades or email me. Until then I won't get too worked up over it. So far, so good, I guess.
Questions and Concerns
This has been an odd blog week. I have encountered different difficulties at different times on my blog and others all week. I'm still having trouble with video uploads. I miss my music video post. I've tried to leave comments on a few blogs and for some reason can't. I'm not sure exactly what is going on. Maybe it's just me. I've had a few followers drop my blog and some add. Don't know why, either a glitch or maybe they don't like me any more. I dropped the word verification to make commenting easier, but it seems to have had the opposite effect. Or maybe I'm no longer that interesting. I don't know. My page hits have stayed steady so I assume it's a interest thing. I'm open to suggestions for content and solutions if you have encountered similar problems. Also when I try to reply to comments, I'm not sure if they are being received. If you have asked a question, I usually email you directly. Of course, it helps to have an email address for you. Feel free to email it to me, it will be kept secret. I do like to correspond with my readers. Take care. Have a great day! I'm off to do butch things for a while.

Pissed Part 2
My team members never sent anything to me about the project due today. I sent what a had and notified the teacher. I'm not sure what she will do if anything. I'm really upset about that. Until we started these team assignments, all my grades were 100's. Now there is no telling what it will dip to. I would think if they all dropped out she would have notified me. Also she is able to check who logs into the site and how often and what they are looking at. If she does, she will see I made the effort and they did not. I guess I should just let it go. There isn't much I can do about it. I could have done the whole webpage myself. I already had an idea for it and the information. That would have defeated the whole team approach. I'll see what the grade is first before I go speak with her or the department head about.
More Banging About
My father worked on installing the other railing today. We made go progress. Tomorrow we should be finished with the last rail and the trim work on the porch. I hope so anyway. Then on to painting a second coat. I was surprised how much we got accomplished today. Since the doctor lowered my father's blood pressure medication, he has much more stamina. He actually kept up with me today! I'm glad to see the improvement.
After the porch is finished, it is on to the overhang around the house. There are a few spots where the gutters ran over and caused a little bit of rot. We are just gonna replace it all and install new eave vents while we are at it. Then we get to paint that too!
Then we move on to the shutters. The need to be removed and painted and then reinstalled. It seems like we have a lot of work ahead of us. I hope before to long we can start on some yard work. I've got some ideas for their yard. Of course, my mother has some of her own. Mine are just better!:) I'm looking forward to that.
When all of that is done we can work on his building for all his junk. And hopefully find time to clear my property of some of the trees. The goal is to have the bulldozer work done at the same time they are working on clearing a spot for his building and fixing the yard. We'll see out that turns out. With all there is to do, I don't see how it will all be done and all of us moved by the end of the year. At some point we will have to get their current place ready to put on the market as well! I need a vacation just thinking about all the work. Somewhere in there I'll attend classes and do homework.
Today's Lesson Plan
My assignment is due today. I finished up all that I could do on my own. I'll submit it this afternoon. I helping out my father this morning. Hopefully, we will finish early enough that I can check the emails for a response or imput from the other team members to complete that part of the task properly and on time. I'm not holding out much hope for that though. There will another email to the instructor if that is the case. Well, wish me luck!

A Bit Miffed
My instructor for my online class has an assignment due tomorrow. I have tried to contact my supposedly team members to get stuff together so it can be submitted tomorrow before 6pm. So far not a peep. I even emailed them the basic outline/ guide to help get the ball moving. Still I haven't heard anything after 2 days and 2 emails. I've checked the school site for messages several times a day for the last week. Nothing. Nada. I finally got tired of waiting. I emailed the instructor on what should I do. This part counts as 20% of the grade for this lesson. Even if I did great on the rest of it, the best I could hope for would be 80. That sucks! Hopefully I'll hear something from one of them or the teacher before tomorrow and have time to get it done. I'm suppose to help my father some tomorrow so time is of the essence. If it wasn't a team project it would have been done and submitted a week ago.

How Do You Really Feel About Your Family?
You Feel at Peace With Your Family |
You get along with everyone in your family, and you tend to play the peacemaker. You can see issues from all sides. You feel like your family is prone to too many arguments and instability. You never feel like things can be completely peaceful. While your parents made mistakes, you forgive them and accept them for who they are. You tend to be the rock in your family. You support everyone in their times of need, and they take your advice seriously. |

Howdy Sis!
So I hear you are having a birthday this week! What's that all about? You making me look old! I wish you a Happy Birthday and many more!
Hope everything is going well in your neck of the woods. I hope the little bit of money I sent with mama will help you celebrate a little. (Thanks for the Internet service, one day I'll pay you back for all your help!) School is going well. No problems so far. The doc upped my dose, it seems to work. (Medicated for your convience!) The place is shaping up over there. Daddy has put a lot of work into it. I help out some. Mama and I have been shopping for stuff she thinks she needs for the other place. It's actually been fun hanging out with them both. I finally got a hair cut. I look human again. Still fat though. One day I'll fix that too. Well gotta go. I have an assignment due this week I need to get crackin' on. Love you Sis! Tell everyone I said "Hey", and give them a hug for me!
Love,
Your fantasically handsome, smart, funny, medicated brother,
David
Thank you so much for the present. You really did not have to do that!! I am glad the internet service is working out well for you. Thanks for being there for moma and daddy when I am further away. I am beginning to see a little bit of improvement in moma's depression. I know its hard for her but I really hope that she is working her way out of it just a little. She went shopping with me all day 2 weeks ago - so that was good. Anyway - glad things are regulated correctly for you now and your haircut looks great !!! Take care and call me if you need anything.
PS I just need to brag a minute on the kids - Chase made the school basketball team and is their starting center. He had the highest points on either team the last game and his name has been in the newspaper a couple times. I'm proud as a peacock!!! Devynne has been chosen to participate in a Battle of the Books tournament for her school next month.; She had to read 12 books and test on them. She's excited. She's in all the higher level classes and doing well. Dance competition starts next Sat. She's so pretty and has a boyfriend uggggg!!! Will - well what can I say. He has become this self sufficient little child and I hate it. I want him to still curl up on my lap and as me to fix him a pepsi!!!!! Anyway - he just had baseball tryouts and scored 5th out of 99 kids!!!! That's pretty incredible I thought. The highschool coaches were ranking them during tryouts!!! So much for the bragging. Family is the only ones I can do that with and not get myself in trouble!!! Take care and see ya later!!!
PSS My puppy is the only disappointment we have!! What a pain in the ass he is!! Tearing up garbage, chewing up everything!!! I need Ceasar!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
Love you much - see ya later

How Happy Are You?

Angel Wings
Chasing dreams across the chasms of the mind,
moving without sound, without effort,
reaching destiny with a thought.
Time is meaningless.
The nexus of being.
The divinity within.
Fleeting images, flash and disappear.
The melding of one into many.
Here true magick dwells.
The core of the human heart,
chaos evanescence and calm grows strong.

Porch Progress
I snapped some pictures of our progress on the front porch on the way back from feeding my parents' pooch this morning. As you can see, there are still some more rails to install and much work left to do in the front yard. Overall, it's coming along nicely, albeit, slowly. Such is outdoor work in the winter.

Stellar Moments
Ever so often there are stories you hear that touch your heart. Maybe even your soul. You find faith in humanity once again. You believe that good can overcome evil. That love will always win over hate. The tears well up and a lump forms in your throat. They swell up in you as you read the words. Or hear them spoken. The triumph over adversity. The rescue of an helpless animal. Someone who did the right thing with out thought for personal gain, but because it was right. Sadly, human history rarely recalls those stellar moments. Hidden away in some news archive, waiting to be rediscovered by a future generation who needs an uplifting story. The endless wars. The relentless poverty. The hunger. It all overwhelms us everyday. The struggles of daily living blind us to the good that still exist in mankind. In our hurried pace we bypass the opportunity for a kind word or gesture to family and stranger alike. The violence of the world numbs us to the outrage we should feel toward the perpetrators. We shrug our shoulders or nod our heads like that is enough to undo it. There are humans among us that have risen to the occasion. Have surpassed every standard and norm set by their community. We give them a hurrah and quickly go back to the mundane. There are stories to be told. There are voices to be heard. Actions to be undertaken. It is these few souls, the islands of humanity, that will carry us forward. The shining examples of what we all should be. The one who shrugged or said it couldn't be done. For those, my eyes well up, a lump forms in the throat, and I say, "Thank you, for restoring my faith in humanity and mankind".
