I'm not sure if it is evidenced by my post here that I'm a spiritual person or not. Over the years, I've developed much stronger interest in the spiritual side of life and the gifts it offers. I love to read about all religions, indigenous cultures, mysticism and even paganism. I find it fascinating that there are so many paths to connect to the divine. My personal view is that no matter the path or the name of some one's God (or Gods), it is just another version of One God, the creator of the universe and all things. I was raised Presbyterian, but soon found it constricting so I began to explore and grow. I respect all religious beliefs. Everyone must find their own path to their soul. I find bits and pieces here and there, gathered from many disciplines, combined to create a personal faith system that works for me. The Bible is important to me, but no more so than any other Holy book. I seek to combine eastern philosophy, pagan ritual, yogi, tai chi, with positive affirmations from many sources. I'm still learning and growing, I think to evolve as a human being it is necessary. I practice meditation and a simple enjoyment of everyday things. I also think that sexuality is an important part of spiritual growth. Tantra is amazing. I've been trying to find a local class in tai chi, instead of trying to learn it from a book. Maybe a DVD if I can't. These beliefs have sustained me through some of my darker moments in my life. I can imagine truly being a monk (or a founder of a new cult). If I could do nothing but be a student for the rest of my life, I would consider it not wasted but fulfilled.

I believe you are right about there being one God and people having different ways of experiencing him. One of the unique Christian religions in the world is Mormonism - they believe in "revealed" religion - that God will reveal his truths to men individually. A lot of people think Mormonism is constrictive but the irony is what Jesus said - "the truth will make you free". You should take a look atarwww.mormon.org - it may give you a very interesting peek into spirituality. The short videos of peoples experiences really interesting.
