Seriously

Yesterday, I was reading on the CNN website a press statement from The Roman Catholic Church which states:"Proposition 8 is not against any group in our society. Its sole focus is on preserving God's plan for people living upon this earth throughout time," Cardinal Roger Mahony, archbishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles, said in a statement Thursday." Well now, it seems to me blatantly obvious, that it does indeed target a group in society. Who else lost the right to marriage other than same sex couples? As for God's plan, in my bible, it didn't mention anything about discrimination. There is so much wrong in that one statement.

I think someone needs a dose of reality with their morning coffee. I honestly don't see how this will hold up in court. Later in the article: "The American Civil Liberties Union, Lambda Legal and the National Center for Lesbian Rights argued in papers filed with the high court that the ballot initiative process "was improperly used in an attempt to undo the constitution's core commitment to equality for everyone."" I think this is where we need to focus our attention. Shoring up the argument that it is unconstitutional. We know it. Now we prove it to everyone else. In a more enlightened society it would be self evident.
